English

Subject

The people that apply the treatment are called subjects. This term is mainly used when people are considered with respect to different treatments and with respect to the analysis. Most software engineering experiments require human subjects to perform some task.

Unlike other disciplines, the subject has a very important effect on the results of the experiments in SE and, therefore, this variable has to be carefully considered during experiment design.

Another term that is used to define the person who applies the methods or techniques is Experimental Subject.

Portuguese

Sujeito
