Qualitative Analysis

Analysis that is performed on qualitative data (i.e. words or pictures). The goal is to gain insight into a phenomena rather than to establish a statistical relationship (as is the norm for Quantitative Analysis). These methods can be used to either generate new hypotheses or to add the weight of evidence to existing hypotheses(Seaman, 1999).
