Estimation

Estimation theory is a branch of statistics that deals with estimating the values of parameters based on measured data. The parameters describe a setting in such a way that the value of the parameters affects the distribution of the measured data. An estimator attempts to approximate the unknown parameters using the measurements.

Estimação é área da estatística que trata em estimar valores de parâmetros a partir de medições de dados. Os parâmetros descrevem uma configuração tal que um valor de um parâmetro afeta a distribuição de uma medição. Um estimador tenta aproximar um parâmetro desconhecido através desta medição.
