Outlier

In statistics, an outlier is an observation that is numerically distant from the rest of the data. Statistics derived from data sets that include outliers may be misleading. Outliers may be indicative of data points that belong to a different population than the rest of the sample set.

Na estatística um outlier é uma observação que é numericamente distante das demais. Estatísticas geradas a partir de outliers podem ser incorretas. A presença de outliers pode indicar que alguns dados pertençam a uma outra população diferente do resto dos dados amostrados.
